Dla kogoś, kto nigdy nie słyszał o Analog Angel krótka informacja - nie są na pewno w żadnym przypadku boysbandem. Ci dżentelmeni są w takim wieku, że bez wątpliwości pamiętają lata 80-te w pełni żywe, a utworami z DISCHORD mówią nam trochę o historii tych wspaniałych czasów. Elektronika lat 80-tych? Na DISCHORD jest na pewno więcej niż szczypta elektroniki lat 80-tych. Niektóre linie basowe wręcz ociekają tłustym analogowym brzmieniem wprost z roczników 80-85!! W tych dźwiękach zaklęte jest czyste analogowe piękno, ustawione na filtrach sweeps, które mogą rozbić okna :-)

Nowoczesna technologia? - ten kwadracik możemy także śmiało odznaczyć. Oczywiście są cyfrowe syntezatory na tym albumie; bez wątpienia, ale oczywiście powykręcane po całości. DISCHORD został złożony razem przy użyciu cyfrowego interfejsu ale ANGEL ANALOG spróbował być trochę innym niż wszyscy inni poruszający się w tym gatunku i zagrali wiele ścieżek na żywo, nie obrabiając, nie kwantyzując ich potem. To daje mniej kliniczny dźwięk z większą ilością ciepła niż normalnie można byłoby oczekiwać od grającego współcześnie elektronicznego zespołu. Nowoczesny dźwięk? Analog Angel zdołali złozyć wizytę w latach 80-tych, wybrali to, co dobre, przenieśli w czasie z powrotem do 2009 i złożyli razem na DISCHORD.
Piosenki? Same piosenki stawiają czoło próbie. Można powiedzieć natychmiast, że ci goscie mają jakieś doświadczenia życiowe za sobą. Oczywiście muzyka celuje i ich wpływy przeświecają przez nią, ale to również teksty nadają ton grze. Jasne, jest tu jakiś dobry stary stylowy synth pop, ale jest też mrok, dopasowujący się groźnym brzmieniem półtonów do tekstów. Tytuły niektórych utworów zapowiadają, że coś mrocznego, zuchwałego i groźnego czai się za nimi. Jest też w nich ta rozedrgana, wrażliwa strona.
John śpiewa "W roli grzesznika jestem tylko początkującym i jeżeli sa to zawody to jest tylko jeden zwycięzca!" w piosence NO CONTEST. Oszukańczy kaznodzieje ze szklanego ekranu obnażeni zostają w utworze TOUCHED ( promo video można zobaczyć na YouTube). HIGH HEELS i DEVIANCE traktują o podstawowym temacie -relacjach damsko - męskich, a jedyna ballada na albumie DOWN ON YOUR KNEES jest delikatnym utworem, który w pełni zasługuje aby trafić pod strzechy i być usłyszany przez masy. DISCHORD? Nie ma z pewnością żadnej oznaki jakiejkolwiek niezgody (discord) na tym albumie. Wszystkie piosenki razem tworzą imponujący pierwszy album ANGEL ANALOG. Tytuł DISCHORD to jest oczywiście swoista gra słowna (uwaga na niepoprawną pisownię). Spytajcie Analog Angel na ich stronie, na forum - mogą opowiedzieć ciekawą historię za tym stojącą - jeżeli tylko jest takowa...

The new album - DISCHORD - is released by RAGE in EDEN records on 30th November and is the debut album of this three piece, electronic band from Glasgow, Scotland.
For anyone that has not heard of Analog Angel; they are not a boy band by any means. They are of an age where they can remember the 80's in full, vivid, 3-D glory and the songs on DISCHORD tell some of the story from the glorious 80's. 80's electronica? There is certainly more than a hint of 80's electronica on DISCHORD. Some of the basslines are straight out of the yearbooks 80-85!! Some of the sounds are pure analogue beauty; full of filter sweeps that could smash windows!!
Up to date technology? - that box is ticked too. There are digital synths on the album; of that there is no doubt but they have been tweeked to within an inch of their lives! DISCHORD has been put together using some sort of digital interface but ANALOG ANGEL have tried to be a bit different from all the others in this genre and they have actually played some of the parts live and not quantized the result. This results in a less clinical sound with a bit more warmth than you would normally expect from an all electronic band. An up to date sound? They have managed to revisit the 80's, picked all that is good, timewarped back to 2009 and put together DISCHORD. The songs? The songs themselves stand up to the test. You can tell immediately that the guys have some life experiences behind them. Some of the music excels and their influences shine through but it is the lyrics that give the game away. Sure, there is some good. old fashioned synth pop on the album but there is a dark, sometimes menacing undertone to some of the lyrics.
The titles of some of the songs shout out to you that there is something dark, cheeky and menacing about to unfold into your ears. There is also an edgy, vulnerable side in some of the songs.
John sings "In the role of the sinner; I'm just a beginner and if it's a contest there's only one winner!" in the song NO CONTEST.

HIGH HEELS and DEVIANCE deal with the sure fire winner topic of sex; whilst the only ballad on the album DOWN ON YOUR KNEES is an exquisite piece of music which deserves to be heard by the masses. DISCHORD? There is certainly no indication of any discord on this album.
All the songs come together to make a very impressive first album from ANALOG ANGEL. DISCHORD is obviously a play on words (note the incorrect spelling!). Ask them on their site forum and they might tell you the story behind it - if there is a story!
